Job Title: 2nd line support engineer 
Location: Great Yarmouth 
Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum 

 

We are excited to be working with an MSP to source a 2nd line support engineer to join their expanding team. The company operated across East Anglia, providing onsite and remote support to their clients, delivering cyber security, IT Support, VOIP and cloud support. 

 

Role Overview:

This role will be operating at a 2nd line support level, responding to allocated tickets. You will be working directly with the customer, so outstanding customer support and effective communication are essential for the role. The company prides itself on the outstanding delivery of its services, and it is essential you maintain this with their clients. 

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 2nd line support in this client-facing role
  • Assist and cover the 1st line team when required 
  • Upskill junior colleagues, showing them how to tackle challenging tickets rather than just completing them yourself 
  • Visit customer locations, provide onsite support and have a presence in the office. This is essential for the role. 
  • Provide technical advice to customers, advising how they can maximize their IT and related products the company offers
  • Implement and deploy new hardware, software and networks 

 

Skills:

  • You must have experience working at a 2nd line level, with a proven background in problem-solving 
  • You must have experience working with:
    • Office 365 Administration 
    • Networks – WAN / LAN
    • Firewalls 
    • Windows Server and Operating Systems
    • Hyper-V or VMware 
    • VOIP 
  • You must have the ability to multitask, whilst prioritising tickets 
  • Escalate tickets to a 3rd line colleague, with a willingness to learn from senior colleagues around you. 

 

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary up to £32,000 per annum 
  • Monday – Friday 
  • This role will initially start onsite full-time, with a discretionary hybrid working pattern offered once you are up to speed. 

 

Due to the location, and requirements to visit clients, a Full UK Driving Licence and access to your vehicle are essential for the role.
