Welcome to the 7th Cooper Lomaz Annual Salary Review for 2010. We return this year with good news ... we are seeing a distinct upward trend in the employment market place.
|

|
|
At the end of 2009 we saw a clear reversal of attitude from employers and, so far during 2010, it shows few signs of changing. Our experience tells us that this is no false positive, but rather an encouraging switch.

|
After a year or so of readjustment, efficiency reviews and restructuring our clients are now more inclined to recruit for permanent staff. This is in stark contrast to the same period last year where we reported on an apprehensive market focused on temporary staffing. Recurring themes across all our divisions are lean methods and flexibility of staff, where exceeding expectations has a marked effect on the bottom line.
Salaries, hourly and day rates continue to even out across Eastern and South Eastern counties, with 10-20% reductions in hourly rates across the board for administration-related roles, but steady permanent salaries in most sectors otherwise. Irrespective of redundancies during 2009, many industries are now noticably bouncing back. With so much talent in the offing, this may well be the year to prepare for a return to growth.
