What is your specialism at Cooper Lomaz?

Technical Recruitment into Food & Drink Manufacturing & Engineering.

What interests you most about the industry you recruit in?

The products made across Food processing and Manufacturing are incredibly broad. With each company constantly looking at new and innovative ways to create products to better quality, cheaper and more efficiently. This combines so many different skills, the whole industry is interesting whether that’s from new machinery, automation, continuous improvement methods and people management all contribute to the end goal of making brilliant products efficiently.

What do you do when you are not in the office?

Painting ink works, mainly animals and people. I love going for long walks with the family and dog in our beautiful countryside in Suffolk. 

What do you love most about recruitment?

Partnering with companies to improve their attraction, on boarding and engagement strategies so the candidates I place are successfully transitioned into a supportive company.

What is the best bit of advice you would give to somebody looking to get into the industry you recruit in / recruitment?

Connect yourself with people who know the industry. You need honest advice about what companies would be able to support your career development and share the same vision.

How did you get into recruitment?

I got recruited by the recruitment company who placed me into hospitality and I started in hospitality recruitment.

 

What did you do before recruitment?

Worked as a front of house manager in hospitality, always had a love for food!

 

Who inspires you?

My family, I come from a hard working family who own a business which can be tough but very rewarding. We are all made of strong stuff, work hard, know the importance of making the right decisions and mostly supporting each other through the highs and the lows.

 

Interesting fact about you…

I once competed competitively at Burghley horse trials, a horse riding international eventing as part of Suffolk’s team and came second!
