Leading a group of Technology Recruiters and managing the development and performance of our team.
Also, I am hands-on recruiting into the Development and Test market.
What interests you most about the industry you recruit in?
Speaking to really innovative local clients and being able to keep up with the newest technologies in the market. It’s refreshing to sell opportunities with clients that I have a genuine interest in.
What do you do when you are not in the office?
Run, football, play keyboard, read, eat good food, travel, boring people about travel stories such as the time I spent Christmas in New Zealand or when I lived in New Jersey in the USA for a couple of years.
What do you love most about recruitment?
The thrill of the chase! Finding that candidate you know is going to be in demand and knowing you found it first.
Helping to play a key role in other consultants’ development through coaching and supporting them in their career.
What is the best bit of advice you would give to somebody looking to get into the industry you recruit in / recruitment?
Control the controllable – it’s an easy job in terms of the process. You just need to ensure you have complete control at every step of the way.
How did you get into recruitment?
Applied for a cool looking “trainee headhunter” advert and stumbled into something that I instantly knew would be addictive!
What did you do before recruitment?
Football Coach for Norwich City Community Sports Foundation. I was coaching a wide range of teams of all age, groups and abilities!
Who inspires you?
People that have a work ethic – I’ll take sheer hard work over any special natural talent any day of the week.
Interesting fact about you…
I’m obsessed with baseball! The New York Yankees in particular.
I’ve also just started learning keyboard again after a 20-year absence!
