Role Summary

The CAD Technician is responsible for creating and adapting technical drawings for all company products using AutoCAD and Inventor design packages. Liaising with the Technical Design Manager, Senior Engineer and Project Managers to provide accurate and suitable technical drawings of subsea concrete structures and lifting equipment for projects and enquiries around the world. To work under the instruction and supervision of the Technical Design Manager and Senior Engineer and assist the Project Managers and Sales department by providing drawings for projects and bids. To be responsible for populating and managing the technical drawings library, ensuring it is up to date at all times. To provide engineering calculations and checks on designs for company products, client project specific structures, lifting equipment and development projects and products. To liaise with Client and 3rd Party Technical teams to win and convert bids and quotes into projects, providing project assistance. To attend site as and when required to aid with the smooth running of projects within the UK.

• Responsibility for updating and keeping up to date the Technical Drawings Library.
• Engineering calculations and checks


Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• To provide good, technically correct and precise drawings of structures and equipment designs.
• To understand and translate client drawings for projects and enquiries.
• To convert engineering designs into technical drawings.
• To ensure good self-management of work to enable accurate deadlines to be given for deliverables.
• To ensure all technical enquires are handled using the most efficient and appropriate solution for all parties
• To ensure and maintain good communication between colleagues and clients as necessary on the progress of tasks and enquiries.
• All assigned project and enquiry tasks are completed, and deadlines are met and ensure information regarding these tasks is relayed to he relevant personnel.
• To ensure projects are delivered on-time and in accordance with client and company specifications.
• Develop knowledge and skills using engineering programs.
• Develop understanding and knowledge of engineering codes and specifications.


Minimum Requirement

• 2 4 years industry experience
• Proficient in AutoCad 2D
• Civil Engineering background/ experience
• Steel fabrication drawings
• Positive approach and work ethic
• Self-management skills and can work under own initiative
• Ability to use Microsoft Office suiteIdeal Requirement: plus

Ideal Requirement

• 5+ years industry experience
• 3D design and modelling experience
• Civil engineering qualification
• Previous work in oil, gas and renewables
• Financial acumen
