Following on from the success of raising over £8,000 for Break in 2017, Cooper Lomaz can now announce that the business has chosen to support, not one, but two charities over a three year period.

For the next three years, Cooper Lomaz will be helping to raise funds for EACH (East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices) and Dog’s Trust via a series of nationwide events.

EACH supports families and cares for children and young people living with a life threatening condition across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk, and Suffolk by providing specialist nursing care, symptom management support, short breaks, wellbeing activities, therapy and counselling, each one tailored to meet the specific needs of the child, young person, and whole family.

Dog’s Trust is the largest dog welfare charity on the UK, whose mission is to bring about the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life, free form the threat of unnecessary destruction. Founded in 1891, Dog’s Trust have 21 centres across the UK, and in 2016, cared for around 15,300 nationwide.

The new charity committee, which has been formed by three members of Cooper Lomaz’ staff: Stuart Wilson, Jessica Shepherdson, and Melissa Porter, will be responsible for organising their fundraising events over the course of the year.

As a business, they have already made a fantastic start to their 2018 fundraising, with a total of £1,385 being raised at an auction during their annual awards evening on January 5th, which saw some of the staff bid and win luxury gifts such as a spa day, lunch at Bishop’s in Norwich, and Norwich City Football Club memorabilia.

A further £700 was raised at the start of February, as they auctioned off members of their management team, where the successful bidders bagged themselves 2 hours of a manager’s time for a request of their choice. Whilst some opted for to go for lunch or have their cars cleaned, others turned the tables on their managers and requested 2 hours of sales calls or admin!

This year will see the return of the ever-popular Cooper Lomaz skydive, where some of the staff will be flown high into the sky before attempting the daring parachute down, as well as the Tour de Broads, where 10 Cooper Lomaz staff have signed up for a gruelling ride around the Norfolk Broads, with most selecting the 100 mile option!

Among the larger scale events, they also have a range of smaller fundraisers, which will feature the comeback of their highly anticipated Cooper Lomaz “pay-to-play” football match, where an inter-office tournament will be taking place between Norwich and Bury St. Edmunds, along with 5k runs, bake sales, raffles, and more.
