Blockchain Technology, has seen a massive increase in media coverage over the last few years. Recent reports showcase this as becoming a critical asset across companies that operate within the financial, manufacturing and consumer industries, resulting in a wave of job seekers amongst the IT sector looking for opportunities within the Blockchain industry.

Blockchain Technology can be defined as a digitized decentralised public ledge of all cryptocurrency transactions underpinned by Bitcoin – a digital currency in which encryption techniques are used to regulate units of currency and verify the transfer of funds.

A year ago, ‘Blockchain’ was little known outside of the tech industry, causing pressure for companies trying to recruit for these positions. We have seen a dramatic rise in the value of Bitcoin to businesses, with the number of job adverts on LinkedIn for Blockchain-related positions having increased over four times within the past year, making it an attractive area in technology recruitment.

With new opportunities, companies are now increasing their search for experts to focus on this technology.

Blockchain is a field that is certainly worth watching as both candidates and employers seize the opportunity to capitalise on this sector. Demand has increased for job seekers with the skills to harness the technology that underpins cryptocurrencies. Blockchain roles have increased 10 fold, showing that there is a rising interest in Crypto Careers amongst candidates.

We are expecting a number of vacancies in Blockchain Development and any Graduates with a Computer Science or Engineering degree alongside strong back-end coding skills and an interest in Cryptography will be in high demand.
Blockchain is still in its infancy and salary may vary considerably with start-ups in the region of £40,000 – £60,000.
