Title: Logistics Coordinator

Location: Stowmarket

Salary: £17.50 - £18.50 per hour

Employment Type: 3-month contract

 

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Logistics Coordinator on behalf of our esteemed client based in Stowmarket, UK. This pivotal role focuses on coordinating the transportation of finished products, resolving delivery issues, and ensuring operations are both cost-effective and timely. The ideal candidate will excel in a dynamic environment, demonstrating the ability to streamline communication between various departments and external partners.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and scheduling shipments to meet customer delivery requirements and production schedules.
  • Coordinating daily shipments from the site to the warehouse.
  • Managing internal movements of finished goods to international locations using SAP.
  • Maintaining open lines of communication with production, planning, administrative, and laboratory departments to ensure coordinated activities.
  • Updating and managing logs and spreadsheets, ensuring timely information on shipment progress.
  • Overseeing on-time delivery reports and addressing any customer complaints or concerns.
  • Liaising with shipping lines, forwarding agents, customs authorities, and transport companies.
  • Monitoring toll requirements and managing material releases.
  • Undertaking additional duties as necessary to support the logistics team.

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • An NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in production planning or shipping administration.
  • Proficiency in English and excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills is essential.

 

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with SAP logistics systems is highly advantageous.
