Opportunity to join a global leader in the design and manufacture of conveying and seasoning systems for the food industry, boasting over 40 years of experience and the best engineers in the industry.
We are seeking a Mechanical Fitter to work as part of a small team responsible for assembling, tuning, and testing machines before dispatch to customers. This role involves manual handling.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble machines according to drawings using compressed air tools.
- Wire up, run, and test machines; note that testing is carried out with exposed live panels.
- Perform chemical/electro polishing.
- Operate a lathe and carry out various tasks using handheld power tools including drilling, grinding, and polishing (suitable training will be provided).
- Conduct small welding tasks and spot welding.
- Dismantle and repair machinery.
- Operate forklift trucks (full training provided).
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably required by your line manager.
Person Specification:
- Preferred skills include:
- FLT licence.
- Knowledge of how to read engineering drawings.
- Basic electrical skills.
- Welding skills.
- We’re looking for a well-organised and proactive individual with high attention to detail, strong problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
- Must be able to keep the working area tidy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Training can be provided where necessary.
