Position Summary:

An exciting opportunity awaits to join the maintenance team of a medium-sized industrial plant specialising in pyrometallurgy. Based in the site’s large, well-equipped workshop, this role entails a blend of mechanical and electrical maintenance and installation tasks. You'll collaborate with a multi-skilled, experienced team, ensuring the smooth operation of this unique industrial facility within a global mining and refining operation. No two days are alike for the Industrial Electrician, whose role is pivotal in maintaining the facility's reliability. Training in fabrication and welding is provided.

Duties Overview:

  1. Safely perform routine and non-routine repairs, installations, and removals of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  2. Utilise fixed and mobile power tools, including drills, saws, and impact drivers, along with operating vehicles such as counterbalance forklift trucks and articulated boom lifts.
  3. Assist in troubleshooting industrial electrical equipment and interpreting basic to intermediate electrical diagrams.
  4. Operate a wide range of workshop equipment, including lathes, mills, pillar drills, and CNC plasma cutters, with access to fabrication and welding equipment.
  5. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned according to business needs.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • Preferably possess Level 3 certification in electrical installation, inspection, and testing
  • Proficient English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Familiarity with safe use of hand and power tools, and interpreting risk assessments
  • Ability to interpret basic electrical diagrams, with experience in 3-Phase and low voltage up to 415V

Beneficial Experience & Education:

  • GCSEs in mathematics, engineering, or physics
  • 1-2 years’ experience in an industrial setting
  • Experience with PLC/SCADA/HMI systems, including fault finding
  • Previous fabrication skills

The Industrial Electrician will typically work Monday to Friday on a rotating shift pattern, with hours from 6:00-14:15 & 14:00-22:15.
