Junior DevOps Engineer
£40,000 - £45,000

You will want to join a business that's making changes to their current processes, with large investments being made in their technology stack, with lots of exciting projects coming up. You will be able to work in a modern, open planned environment, working with like-minded collaborative team members. Providing key products to the automotive sector, globally, you will be a key part of ensuring new releases are in to production ASAP.

Key Responsibilities;
- Supporting and maintaining production systems
- Maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations
- Collaborate with different teams and divisions, both onshore and offshore.
- Create scripts to automate test, staging & production service deployments.
- Able to understand and recognise opportunities where automation can be applied within different stages in the development process to gain operational savings, both in time & money.

This role would suit either a current Junior DevOps engineer who wants to work in a larger production environment or a strong Infrastructure engineer, with scripting experience, who wants to make the step in to DevOps. You will be reporting into the Infrastructure & Cloud Architecture Manager, but given the opportunity to shape the future DevOps function and leave a long lasting mark on this business.

Key Skills Required;
- Windows or Linux systems experience - a bias towards Linux would be beneficial. Both tuning & monitoring of web/app.
- Scripting using one or more of these; Powershell, Shell Scripting, Bash, Julia, Perl or Python
- Continuous Integration using any of these tools: GIT, Gradle/Maven, Hudson/Jenkins, Azure DevOps or Artifactory.
- Web based servers (Apace/IIS/Nginx) and Web App Servers (WebSphere or jBoss)

It would be an added advantage if you have any of the below;
- Java, C# or .NET development experience
- Elesticsearch, LogStash, Kibana, InfluxDB, Nagios, Splunk etc.
- Cloud & containerisation: Azure, AWS, GCloud, Rackspace, Docker

A degree in Computer Science or alike would be desirable, but if you have relevant job experience then this could offset the requirement for a degree.
